Stefan Schönegg (*1986), born in Heppenheim, grew up in Konstanz. Studied Classical and Jazz double bass in Berlin and Cologne, lives and works in Cologne.

Works in between Improvised Music, Jazz, Classical Avantgarde. Founding member of the Cologne collective for improvised and contemporary music impakt.

Besides working with his own ensembles entitled Enso with
different lineups which deal with quiet intensities in between free
improvisation and composition, he is / was involved in numerous projects
like Eva Klesse Quartett, Die Fichten, Schmid’s Huhn, Simon Nabatov
Trio, Katrin Scherer Cluster Quartet, Totenhagen, Leif Berger „Hinweis
auf die Sonne“, Janning Trumann Octet and others.

As a demanded sideman Stefan plays concerts all over Europe and beyond, including tours in China, Egypt, India, Lebanon, Russia, Turkey. He played on reknowned festivals for Jazz and Neue Musik like Moers festival, Elbjazz, Cologne Jazzweek, Cairo Jazz festival, Izmir Jazz festival, Warsaw Autumn, Acht Brücken, Ferienkurse für Neue Musik Darmstadt.
