SONIQ MEETS DUBLIN is where ancient roots encounter vibrant innovation, where intercultural sophistication blends with urban vitality, and where joy meets contemplation.
In their fourteenth project, the Cologne-based collective SONIQ – featuring Christina Fuchs, Jarry Singla and Ramesh Shotham – ventures into rich musical territory once again.

This time, they collaborate with three Dublin-based artists whose musical identities are shaped by Irish traditions but reach far beyond. Together, they explore a unique soundscape where Celtic folk, contemporary jazz, tango, Indian rhythms, and experimental hybrids converge. Their journey is inspired by the concept of Imaginary Folk Music – a style that fuses ancestral roots with European avant-garde imagination.

Joining SONIQ are renowned Uilleann Piper Martin Nolan, whose expressive style has graced stages alongside jazz legends like Dave Liebman and Michael Brecker; Peter Browne, a virtuoso of the Irish Button Accordion who blends deep traditional knowledge with global curiosity; and Ronan Guilfoyle, a pioneering jazz bassist and composer, who brings rhythmic ingenuity and a unifying spirit.

At the heart of the initiative lies Meitheal, the Irish tradition of communal cooperation. SONIQ MEETS DUBLIN embraces this ethos—creating a fellowship of six artistic souls through musical exchange in a time that urgently calls for connection.
