For the past ten years, the artist collective SONIQ has been dedicated to fostering musical encounters that transcend cultural boundaries. During this time, they have initiated, developed, and performed 13 very diverse programs.
Founded by saxophonist Christina Fuchs, pianist Jarry Singla, and percussionist Ramesh Shotham, SONIQ blends influences from jazz, contemporary music, improvisation, folk, electronic music, and sound traditions into a vibrant sound that celebrates the cultures of the world.
In celebration of their anniversary, SONIQ now joins forces with Cologne-based singer Marie Daniels, who works with the collectives HILDE, PENG e.V., and The Dorf & Umland in North Rhine-Westphalia and opens up new sonic spaces with her extraordinary voice and openness to improvised and experimental music.
SONIQ meets Marie Daniels features intense musical dialogues full of surprises, energy, and atmospheric beauty – far beyond genre boundaries, yet immediately accessible.
