South America I Make Dialogue Great Again

6.9.2018 Dortmund, Domicil
7.9.2018 Herford, Logensaal
9.9.2018 Cologne, Stadtgarten, Concert Hall

The current project “South America – Make Dialogue Great Again,” is devoted to a dialogue with musicians from South America. Their many-colored forms, such as Chacarera, Samba, and Cueca, and rhythms, such as Candombe and Lando, will be blended with European polyphony and the sensitive sounds of European Jazz.
One of the guests will be Buenos Aires guitarist and composer Demián Ornstein, who is deeply involved with the roots of his country’s folklore music. At the same time Ornstein is constantly widening his horizon toward a multitude of jazz styles and tango. Sabeth Perez, whose parents are also from Argentina, was raised in Cologne. She is a young, rising-star singer who has had great success working with the HR-Big Band, the WDR-Big Band, and the EOS Chamber Orchestra. Finally, Soniq will invite the fantastic percussionist and bassist Laura Robles. She has lived in Berlin since 2012 and is considered one of the best Cajon-players in Peru, her home country.
